Welcome to the April edition of the CollectionSpace newsletter. In this issue we’re talking about exciting things our implementers are doing with CSpace and where you can find us in the coming months! Read on for details.

Welcome New Implementers

We are pleased to welcome our newest CollectionSpace implementer, the Boston Public Library! In addition to their vast collection of books, the Library has an Arts Department that cares for over one million items including prints, photographs, drawings, paintings, and sculpture – all in need of a robust collections management system.

Two years ago, the Arts Department established updated policies and procedures for cataloging their collection. Now, thanks to CollectionSpace, they have a system to store their improved data. Our web-based collections management tools provide an important resource addition to the Boston Public Library’s upcoming Special Collections Reading Room (currently part of the Rare Books Renovation Project). This will be a significant resource for both staff and public to access.  Reference questions related to special collections held in the Arts Department can be directed to arts@bpl.org.

Boston Public Library utilizes both ArchivesSpace and CollectionSpace hosting services. We are proud to have this important Library as part of the LYRASIS family of implementers.
