Happy New Year and welcome back! In this issue of the CollectionSpace Newsletter we are excited to be starting the new year with a community event and some exciting announcements. Please read on to see what we have been up to this past month and what’s in store.

Copyright & Rights Management Community Conversation

Join us on January 27th, 2022 @ 12:00pm Eastern for a community conversation about Copyright & Rights Management in CollectionSpace.

We encourage you to bring your use cases, stories, and anything you’ve got on your wish lists related to copyright & rights management for discussion. Together, we’ll walk through some draft wireframes, and discuss what would be the most useful set of fields for tracking rights, non-exclusive licenses, and more.

To get a head start before the conversation, you can see the draft wireframes on the program wiki. Don’t worry if they don’t look like what you need – it’s just a draft, and everything is subject to change!
This session is FREE to attend. Registration is required, but only so we can provide you with the zoom details and know how many to expect. You can register to attend at this link. We hope to see you there!

CollectionSpace Becomes Spectrum Partner

This month we officially became licensed Spectrum Partners! What does this mean? CollectionSpace has always been proud of maintaining a standards-based platform, using Spectrum as our chosen standard. In partnership with the Collections Trust, we are now an official Spectrum Partner. We are very excited to build on this partnership to continue expanding CollectionSpace into new communities and new languages. You can read more about the Spectrum standard on the Collections Trust website.

Up Next

Coming up in March, we will be presenting our next Spotlight Series, hosted by LYRASIS. In this session, Museum of the Moving Image will be joining us to showcase and talk about their work cataloging and exhibiting time-based media, and how they worked with the CollectionSpace program team to create new extensions to CollectionSpace to support all our community members engaged in this kind of work.

Stay tuned for details on how to join us for this exciting session!
